Virtual Cooking Class: A Melting Pot
Sunday October 4: A Meal in Mexico
About the Experience
Mexican cuisine is one of the most popular cuisines in the United States. It’s no wonder considering how delicious it is, with its bold and festive flavors. In this virtual cooking class, we are going to prepare a dish that’s popular throughout Latin America: Picadillo. Our focus will be Mexican picadillo. Its key ingredients include ground meat, potatoes, tomatoes, and aromatic spices. We’ll pair this with Arroz Rojo (red rice) which accompanies many classic Mexican dishes. During class, Chef Jennifer will explain the difference between the picadillo recipes of other regions and why those differences exist. Since no meal is complete without dessert, we’ll also prepare Mexican Chocolate Brownies. The class starts at 4:00 pm Pacific Time and runs for approximately 90 minutes. Chef Jennifer will walk you through each step, explain culinary techniques, provide cooking tips, and throw in some fun food facts along the way. By the time you shut off your computer screen, a tasty two-course Sunday supper will be ready to serve.
