Service Description

The first stop on the Silk Road takes us to Chengdu, the capital of the Sichuan Province in southwestern China. During this class, Chef Jennifer will guide participants through a main course and dessert recipe in a step-by-step fashion. Participants will learn cooking techniques as well as detailed information about the ingredients and the culture behind the cuisine. - Starter / side dish: Liangban Huanggua (smashed cucumber salad) - Main course: Yuxiang Qiezi (fish-fragrant eggplant) - Dessert: Mango Sticky Rice (No, this dish doesn’t hail from Chengdu, but Chef Jennifer will explain the choice for this dessert during class) This menu is completely vegetarian, despite the name of the main dish. If you are new to cooking Chinese cuisine, you will likely need to make a trip to your local Asian market to procure some ingredients. Chef Jennifer will provide plenty of details when she sends out the recipes and equipment lists. She will also provide some additional recipe links so that participants can use these ingredients again when class is over. What you get when you sign up: - Recipes and equipment list 7-10 days prior to class - 75 to 90 minutes of interactive cooking instruction with a professional chef - An awesome two-course meal that is ready to eat when class is over
